Photo dilapidation surveys – case study of the dilapidation survey undertaken of the Manchester Town Hall complex prior to major construction works commencing. The survey comprised in excess of 3 million photographs utilizing 360 degree technology linked from floor plans enabling the viewer to locate the room/space on the floor plan and then entering the 360 degree image from where to be able to fully look around and move between the 360 image locations. This particular survey utilized low resolution 360 degree images combined with high resolution still images linked via hotspots within the 360 images. 360 degree technology has radically improved since this survey was undertaken enabling extremely high resolution 360 images with the capability of zooming into study remarkably small details.
